Outdoor Discovery program presents That Guy with the Birds at 7 p.m. today at the Carousel Shelter at Alameda Park off New Castle Road. Venture Outdoors North office in Zelienople hosts a day trek from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Moraine State Park. Visit www.ventureoutdoors.org.

Moraine State Park hosts a DiscoverE Adventure Camp from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday and July 23 and 30. The park naturalist will conduct a variety of outdoor activities including kayaking, geocaching, disc golf and fishing. Those age 13 to 17 can register. REGIONMcConnells Mill State Park, Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, has opened the old mill through Labor Day. A "Hike Along the Mill Stream" begins at 10 a.m. Saturday. Mill hours are 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Interpretive tours of the mill, lasting about 45 minutes, will be available at 1 and 2 p.m. Fridays and at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Star Parties, sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh, are planned for 8:35 p.m. Friday and Saturday, weather permitting, at the Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park, Frazer Township, Allegheny County. Call 724-224-2510. Admission is free, though donations to help cover the costs of operation are accepted.
