Moraine State Park will be the site of "Historic Oil Well Operation" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The central powerhouse site is beyond the Forestry & Regional office building on Park Road (Old Route 422) off Route 528. "Tag a Monarch Butterfly" takes place at 1 p.m. Saturday; meet the park naturalist and members of the Wissahickon Nature Club at McDanel's Launch, Pavilion No. 7 on the North Shore. A forest hike is planned for 10:30 a.m. Sunday; meet the park naturalist at the park office on the South Shore for a moderate, 3-mile hike. Call the park office at 724-368-8811.

Venture Outdoors North hosts a calisthenics hike from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Moraine State Park. A fee is charged. Visit www.ventureoutdoors.org.

<B>Star parties</B>, sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh, are scheduled to start about 7:40 p.m. Saturday, weather permitting, at the Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park. Admission is free. Donations are accepted for the costs of operation.
