CLO sings out with 'Christmas Carol'

PITTSBURGH — “A Musical Christmas Carol”presented by the Pittsburgh CLO runs through Dec. 23 at the Byham Theater, 101 Sixth St.

Classic characters and a wealth of holiday melodies grace this traditional holiday tale. Ebenezer Scrooge’s ghostly adventure through the past, present and future helps him find redemption from a life of loneliness and greed — and just in time to celebrate the season.

Starring as Ebenezer Scrooge is Tom Atkins of Pittsburgh, who also starred in “The Chief” about Art Rooney Sr. Atkins’ career has included roles in the films “Lethal Weapon,” “Bob Roberts” and “Striking Distance” as well as the television shows “M*A*S*H,” “The Rockford Files” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”

Shows start at 7:30 p.m. today and Friday and Dec. 21, 22 and 23; at noon, 4 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and at 2 and 6 p.m. Sunday, plus daytime student matinees.
