PITTSBURGH — Carnegie Science Center is breaking out its messiest, sloppiest, grossest activities for its fifth annual MessFest on Sunday.

In previous years, MessFest took place on New Year’s Day, but this year the science center will be closed on New Year’s Day because of the Winter Classic Penguins game at nearby Heinz Field.

A variety of hands-on activities will be featured from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors should remember they will be getting messy and dress accordingly.

MessFest 2011 activities are included with general admission, which is $17.95 for adults, $9.95 for children ages 3 to 12, and free for children under 3.
