Other authors with Butler County connections have recently published a novel of love and baseball, a children's book about a very strong girl, a collection of God's lessons and a history of the competition to build the first Jeep.

In his tenth novel, Butler County native and Knoch High School graduate Mark W. Sasse said he's finally written the baseball novel he's always wanted to write with deep roots in Western Pennsylvania.“A Diamond For Her” tells the story of 1920s railroad man Raymond Blythe, whose series of disturbing dreams of giant creatures with Greek names playing baseball and courting of librarian Rochelle Christy leads him to establish his own baseball league in Pennsylvania's Allegheny Mountains.The 346-page book will be available in April.

Lauren Scapellato's “Cam Kablam” is an action-adventure chapter book about learning to be yourself when there's no time to stop and think.It's part nonsense, part silliness and part acceptance. Susan Protzman of Butler, the founder/director of Hope House Ministries of Adonai, has written a collection of stories from her life illustrating what God has taught her through them.The $20.99 paperback is available from Xulon Press.

Jana Greco is a Mars resident and newly retired teacher of 25 years in the Seneca Valley School District.She's recently published a book that is designed to assist parents, teachers and counselors to teach young children about their emotions.It's about a spunky little girl who doesn't understand her feelings until she gets help from one of her favorite teachers.The book is available as a $9.25 paperback or a $7.50 ebook at https://janascloset.com.

Ralph Turner of Butler, a hands-on craftsman on the project, has written a history of the competition between the three car companies all vying to get the first government contract from the U.S. Army to build the Jeep in 1940.Lots of back and forth among the car companies (Ford, Willys Overland and, of course, Bantam), generals, designers and high-ranking government officials and dozens of photographs are in the book, which is available as a $19.99 paperback and a $9.99 ebook.
