Butler has had its share of professional wrestlers throughout the years. These two wrestlers have had the biggest impact.

John MintonA 1967 Butler High School graduate, Minton broke out when the Executioners held the WWWF tag team title in 1976. Throughout the 1980s, under the name Big John Studd (he stood 6 foot, 10 inches tall and weighed 384 pounds), Minton was the main adversary of the legendary Andre the Giant.

Tattrie was born in Canada in 1931, but established himself in Pittsburgh as Geto Mongol, a wrestler and promoter. Until his 1982 retirement, he organized events in the area and trained many wrestlers, most notably Bruno Sammartino.
