Sheehan is watercolor winner at AABC show
The Associated Artists of Butler County announced the winners of its annual 76th annual Spring Show & Sale.
T.J. Sheehan of Butler took top honors with his watercolor painting “Tree Lines” which won Best of Show.

• Kim M. Ross, first place for “Peacock”
• Chic Francona, second place for “Lady Blue”
• Luisa Rylott, third place for “Bridge”
• Honorable Mention: Chic Francona for “Mya’s Two Note Samba.”
Mixed media and sculpture
• Lillian Reynolds Reeher, first place for “Nesting Instinct II”
• Dona Boots, second place for “Self Portrait”
• Rachel Howard, third place for “Crescent”
Oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings
• T.J. Sheehan, first place for “Remnants”
• Chialing Bull, second place for “My Independent Garden”
• Marise Martin, third place for “Model”
Exhibited along with the annual show and sale is a solo exhibit by Sheehan featuring more than 50 pieces of art.
Both exhibits will remain on display through June 10 during The Art Center hours of noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
Upcoming events at The Art Center include the “The Art of Sound” exhibit opening May 27 in the Underground Gallery.
“The Patriot” art exhibit, a regional juried exhibit, opens June 24 in the Rittelmann Gallery. Taking place at the same time will be an unjuried international digital “Patriot” show, in which artists from any country can send a digital image of their art describing “Why I’m proud of my region or country.”

Also, AABC is sponsoring a four-day workshop “Creative Perspective for the Artist,” taught by Fred Graff, from Sept. 19 to 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $350, and the class size is limited to the first 20 artists who send in a $50 deposit. Checks should be made payable to “AABC,” with a memo “Perspective Workshop with Fred Graff,” and sent to AABC, 344 S. Main St., P.O. Box 245, Butler, PA 16003-0245.
