NEW CASTLE — Singers are invited to take part in the 71st annual performance of George Handel’s “Messiah” with the New Castle Music Club Chorus. The performance will be directed by Butler resident Harry Cunningham.

Rehearsals are from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays at First Presbyterian Church at the corner of Jefferson and Falls streets. The first rehearsal is from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Monday, followed by a social hour with refreshments.

The “Messiah” presentation is at 3 p.m. Nov. 27 at Third Presbyterian Church in New Castle.

Kathy Miller is the organist with Karen Toth, pianist, Andrew Erb, trumpeter, and Sharon Perschke, flutist.

Present and past participants of all ages, along with others who enjoy singing, may add their voices to about 70 others. Those singing for the first time may purchase copies of the oratorio at rehearsal for $8.
