Ekas 3 generations onMt. Washington
On Aug. 31, three generations of the Ekas family climbed Mt. Washington in New Hampshire, home of the world's highest clocked wind speed of 231 mph. Derek Ekas, 9, a fourth grader at South Butler Intermediate Elementary School, stands in front of his grandfather, Ron Ekas, and his father, Scott Ekas, all of Saxonburg, after climbing to the summit of MtWashington. The trio endured 60 mph wind gusts during their four-hour hike.
