This picture was taken in the first precinct of Butler's first ward, at St. Michael's Hall on Center Avenue. There, 62 voters had cast their ballots by 10 a.m. The trend was reflected throughout the county, and it was felt that the turnout of registered voters had a chance to top the 82 percent figure of the 1964 contest.
