Joseph T. Black lost his life in France in 1918

Joseph T. Black was born in 1888 in Oakland Township. According to post adjutant Mike Mizerak, he was member of the Army's Co. L for 12 years, serving on the Mexican border and eventually in France, where he was killed in August 1918. He was buried with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
