“Maple Madness,” a look at the history of maple sugaring, will be presented by the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania on March 31 at the Succop Conservancy, Airport Road. Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, hosts the Great Backyard Bird Count from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Citizens can help scientists gather data on the biodiversity of birds across the U.S. and Canada. This workshop and indoor observation session is designed for those age 12 and older. This free event is particularly recommended for teachers and youth leaders who might want to involve their students in citizen science projects.
