Broadway comes to Strand
ZELIENOPLE — Leslie Alexander, who starred opposite Hugh Jackman in “The Boy from Oz” on Broadway, will headline the second installment of the Strand Theater’s 2012 Broadway Concert Series.
The productions on March 16 and 17 will showcase the music of Jerry Herman, the Tony Award-winning composer of music and lyrics for classics such as “Hello, Dolly,” “Mame” and “La Cage Aux Folles.”
Alexander also appeared with the original cast of “Mama Mia.”
The Strand is in the midst of its third season of Broadway concerts.
Also appearing will be local stars Sam Carmella, Jamie Hulick, Mary Ann Mangini and David Sweikowski.
The show will go on at 8 p.m. March 16 and 17 at the Strand Theater, 119 N. Main St.
