The Butler Safety Council will host the third annual Safety Walk in the Park safety extravaganza from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 9 at Butler Memorial Park.

The event will feature a variety of vendors sharing safety-related information with the public.

It will be sponsored by the safety council and the City of Butler.

Frank Treccase, professor emeritus of Italian and Spanish at Slippery Rock University, will host an annual trip to Europe from June 29 to July 10. This year's travelers to Italy will visit Rome, Florence, Venice, Pisa, Lucca, Capri, Pompeii and Assisi.A maximum of 25 people will be on the trip. CENTER TWP — The fourth annual Brain Injury Awareness Day will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 21 in the center court of the Clearview Mall. The event will be held simultaneously with the Western Pennsylvania Brain Safety Fair.Sponsor for both events is The Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania.Features will include 30 tables with community resources as well as activities and tables promoting bike safety. Those include laminated photo identification cards for bike licenses and fitting and distributing bike helmets.
