Butler County Symphony Orchestra will present an evening of music from the movies beginning at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium. The orchestra will perform movie themes including those from “E.T.,” “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Jurassic Park” and “Spiderman.” Young Artist competition winner Kylee O'Donnell, a Duquesne University sophomore, will perform with the orchestra. The Ploughshare Poets will play traditional and non-traditional Celtic music at 7 p.m. March 16 at Bottlebrush: A Gallery for the Arts, 539 Main St., Harmony. Dinner at Harmony's Stohr Haus Bakery Wine Cellar will be available from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Cost of $30 includes dinner and the show. The menu will include smoked mackerel horseradish pâté, salad, Irish soda bread, beef stout pie, and apple cake. Beverages will be provided, but alcoholic beverages are BYOB. Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts presents the local Irish band, Carnival of Soul, at 7 p.m. March 16 at Lincoln Hall, 92 Palmer St. The band features highland pipes, bohran drums, guitars, mandolin, fiddle, accordion and keyboard along with vocals.
