The Audubon Society hosts a walk through the history of maple sugaring along with a pancake breakfast, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Succop Conservancy, 185 Airport Road, Penn Township. The first breakfast seating is at 10 a.m. followed by seatings every half hour until 1:30 p.m. Registration is required. Call 412-963-6100 or go to www.aswp.org online.
Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, will host a free program on how sap becomes maple syrup at 2 p.m. Sunday. Visitors should arrive on time to get a seat. The program will include an indoor presentation followed by a guided, outdoor walk featuring a working evaporator and a taste of real syrup. Call 724-794-6011. Registration for the “Scout Stewards: Battling Invasive Species” for individual scouts or troops/packs/groups of no more than 10 begins at 9 a.m. April 3 and closes at 3 p.m. April 12.
