The new Local Artists Mini-Series will feature “Arias in the Afternoon” with Jessica Spafford at 2 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.
The Chicora native is a full scholarship student at Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music. She received a bachelor’s in vocal performance from Ohio Wesleyan University, graduating summa cum laude.
With many accolades and credentials to her name, Spafford appeared in the role of Clothilde in Puccini’s “Norma” in Pittsburgh in November with the Undercroft Opera Company, and she has the lead role of Susanna in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” to be performed in April with Duquesne University.
Tickets to the Sunday show at BC3 are $10. Senior citizens get a $2 discount. Call the BC3 box office at 724-284-8505.
The next performance at BC3 is “A Valentine Affair” by the August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble at 8 p.m. Feb. 14 in the Succop Theater.
