Philharmonic plays Friday at Succop
The Friday concert of the Pittsburgh Philharmonic Orchestra will feature some of the finest dance tunes in classical music, including Strauss waltzes, a tango and a medley from “My Fair Lady.”
Dubbed “Save the Last Dance,” the concert also will feature Pablo Ardiles, music director for the Pittsburgh Youth Chamber Orchestra, teaming up with Philharmonic music director Edward Leonard.
Dancing with the Philharmonic at the March concert will be area tango artists Trini Regaspi and Martin De San Martin.
Selections for the Philharmonic’s spring concert include “Die Fledermaus Overture,” “Blue Tango,” “Habanera,” “Emperor Waltz,” “My Fair Lady Medley” and “Capriccio Italien.”
Performing with the orchestra will be the winner of the Philharmonic youth competition.
