The free Outdoor Discovery program, hosted by the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department, at 6:30 p.m. today in the Carousel Shelter at Alameda Park will be “The Biddle Boys: Escape and Death of Butler County's Most Notorious Outlaws.” The program finishes the season.
Moraine State Park, Muddy Creek Township, will present “Bats in Action” from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Zion Baptist Church, Route 528. Take blankets or chairs, and bug protection. The program from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday will “Quick Frozen Critters” for children ages 5 to 12 at Pleasant Valley Beach on the South Shore.
Nautical Nature, a 37-passenger enclosed pontoon boat at Moraine State Park has trips on Lake Arthur. Cost is $35 for two people, $60 for a family of four. Reservations are required. Call 724-368-9185 or visit www.morainepreservationfund.org.

Star parties sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh are scheduled to begin, weather permitting, at about 8:10 p.m. Aug. 21 and 22 at the Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park near Russellton. Call 724-224-2510.McConnells Mill State Park, Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County off Route 422, has the gristmill open through September from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
