PENN TWP — A second season of the Picnic in the Park free concerts at Succop Nature Park, 185 W. Airport Road, will begin tonight with the five-piece band Fertigs Crossroads playing classic country, some blues and '50s and '60s rock music.

Concerts start at 7 p.m. in front of the events shelter, rain or shine. Playing Sept. 24 will be the Jake Rubenstein Band with classic rock and some blues.

Finally, the Knoch Jazz Band will perform Oct. 15.

BRADY TWP — A new original show, “Shootout at Slippery Rock Creek,” will be presented Sept. 11 to 13 and 18 to 20 at the Old Stone House near the intersection of Routes 8, 173 and 528.Performances start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be ordered online at http://oldstonehousepa.tumblr.com/tickets. Tickets also will be available at the door.

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Public Library, 2525 Rochester Road, will present author Tom McMillan from 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 8.McMillan will discuss his book, “Flight 93: The Story, the Aftermath and the Legacy of American Courage on 9/11.” He will sign copies of his books after the event. SLIPPERY ROCK — Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, will explore bees' skills and enhanced senses, the service they provide to man and the problems affecting them from 2 to 3 p.m. Sept. 20. No registration is required.

WORTH TWP — More than 75 homebrewers will converge on Cooper's Lake Saturday to vie for the Taster's Choice Award during the seventh annual BrewersFest.Tastings of more than 150 beers will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Also offered will be food, bands and a bonfire.For more information, call 724-368-9771 or visit cooperslake.com/home/brewersfest.php.
