SAXONBURG — Saxonburg Library, 240 W. Main St., will host a program on osteoporosis and bone health at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The program will be presented by Dr. Larry Cimperman and Dr. Agnes Gallagher. For information, call 724-352-4810.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will offer free basic federal and state tax filing from Feb. 1 to April 15 for those who qualify with total income less than $49,000 (some exclusions apply.)VITA is a national program through the IRS.For information or to make an appointment, call the Center for Community Resources at 724-431-3748.

BUTLER TWP -- Butler County Parks and Recreation will sponsor an American Red Cross baby-sitting program from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 20 at Butler Township Park, 468 South Duffy Road, Butler.All participants will receive certification. The training emphasizes leadership, safety and safe play, basic care, first aid and professionalism. Registration is required by Feb. 12 at Butler County Parks and Recreation Department or by calling 724-284-5383.

ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople Historical Society will hold training sessions for potential tour guides and receptionists for the summer 2010 tour season. at 1 p.m. Feb. 12 and 10 a.m. Feb. 13.Training will be at Passavant House, 243 S. Main St. Call the office at 724-452-9457 to reserve a spot. Sue Casker, chair of the docent committee, will present the society's needs and answer questions.

CHERRY TWP — The Moniteau FFA will host its fourth annual Field, Fish and Game Night from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 12 at Moniteau High School.The event includes demonstrations on predator calling, trapping, turkey and more. The raffle packages include predator, boar hunt, archery and others.There will be games, a petting zoo and other activities for children under 12.

BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Symphony Association will recognize 43 Butler County music students, as "Young Musicians of Note" at the 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 performance of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra at Butler Intermediate High School.The students are in grades 7 to 12 at public and private schools in Butler County. PENN TWP — Penn Christian Academy, 199 Airport Road, will hold an educational expo at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23.
