Slippery Rock UniversityAlice Tan Ridley, the singer who achieved fame on television’s “America’s Got Talent,” will launch the Performing Arts Series with a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the University Union. A five-piece band of piano, guitar, bass, saxophone and drums will accompany her. Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for those 62 and older, $18 for those 17 and younger, and $8 for SRU students. Grove City CollegePew Fine Arts Gallery hosts “Works by J.D. Titzel” Tuesday through Nov. 14.The Mercer County-based artist presents paintings of landscapes, portraits and still-lifes, done in oil and watercolor, along with graphite drawings.Titzel will be on hand for an artist’s reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 23 in the gallery and will also conduct an artist’s workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. that day on campus when he’ll demonstrate and discuss his techniques.Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, as well as 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 28 to 31, and 6:30 to 10 p.m. Nov. 12 to 14.
