Elephants are focus of next 'Collectors'
Cyndy Sweeney of Butler will present “Elephants — Gentle Giants” on Nov. 19 as part of “The Collectors” series at the Maridon Museum.
Sweeney, chairman of the collections committee and vice president of the Maridon's board of trustees, will talk about the creatures that were a childhood favorite of hers.
Her collection includes jewelry, clothes, paintings, books and statues, and she will show many of the pieces during her talk.
“The Collectors” features residents talking about their art collections. Objects will be exhibited in the multipurpose room. Presentations take place at 7 p.m. select Thursday evenings at the museum at 322 N. McKean St. Reservations are required.
