Cranberry Supervisors pursue funding for police department renovations
CRANBERRY TWP — Supervisors took a preliminary step toward securing funding for major police department renovations at a meeting on Thursday, Nov. 7.
Officials unanimously approved a Local Share Account grant application that included detailed plans of the proposed project.
“It’s renovation of existing department space,” township manager Dan Santoro said. “It needs some maintenance. We need to address their locker room and surfaces, and do some work in the bathrooms. Along with that, we might look at a little bit of reorganization of that space for the officers.”
The Cranberry Township Police Department moved into the current location more than two decades ago, and no major improvements have been made to the facility since then, he said.
