New principal joins Holy Sepulcher School
MIDDLESEX TWP — Holy Sepulcher Elementary School will welcome a new face this year in principal Sister Anna Marie Gaglia.
Gaglia was appointed to the administrative post June 1. She replaces Jacki Delaney, who was principal for 13 years.
Gaglia was previously principal of St. John of God Elementary School in McKees Rocks for two years, until its June closure from lack of funding.She is a member of the congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden, Beaver County.Gaglia served on the sisters' Leadership Team for 15 years and was its president for 10 years.She serves on the executive committee of both the Family Hospice and Palliative Care Board in Pittsburgh, and Villa St. Joseph Board, a St. Joseph's sisters residential care facility in Baden.Gaglia earned her bachelor's in history at Carlow University and master's in counselor education at the University of Pittsburgh.Gaglia said she is excited about joining the staff at Holy Sepulcher, saying she knows the school excels in many areas, including the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science program."I believe that Catholic education provides an exceptional opportunity for individual growth by nurturing each child spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and physically within a faith community," she said. "I am eager to meet the students and families."Holy Sepulcher Elementary School at 6515 Old Route 8 has classes from preschool through eighth grade.
