FREEPORT — The Freeport Area Library is collecting items for its upcoming New to You sale.
Clean, usable household items can be dropped off at the library, 428 Market St., during normal business hours.
Red Cross offers lifesaving classes
The Butler Red Cross is offering lifesaving classes this month at its office at 312 Mercer St.
• 6 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, first aid classes with adult, infant and child CPR
• 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 22, CPR/AED classes for professional rescuers and health care providers
• 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 24, first aid class with adult, infant and child CPR.

SAXONBURG — Harry Schmeider, ambassador to the bluebirds, will speak at 10 a.m. March 14 in the basement of St. Luke's Fellowship Hall, 310 W. Main St., following a 9 a.m. breakfast.Sponsored by the Senior Stars ministry, Schmeider will answer all questions about bluebirds.
An informational session on “Drug Resistant Organisms: What They Are and How to Live With Them” will be held at 2 p.m. March 21 at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church Social Hall, 123 E. Diamond St.Blood pressure screenings will be held at 1:30 p.m.This session is being presented by Health South and hosted by LIFE Butler County.
The Friends of the Library are organizing a used book sale from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 23 and 24.The sale will take place in the basement of the Butler Public Library, 218 N. McKean St.
