Anita Cooper

Anita Elaine Cooper, 66, of Slippery Rock, Worth Township, Butler County, passed away at Edison Manor, New Castle, at 12:30 a.m. Sunday following an extended illness.

She was born in Miami, Fla., on Nov. 18, 1947, to Emmett Jones and Bertha Benton Jones.

She married David Bruce Cooper on Sept. 26, 1989.

Anita had worked in the “OPM,” Office of Personnel Management, in the Underground Mines in Boyers.

She loved spending time with her family and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Dave, at home; her daughter, Lisa M. Walton and her husband, Robert J., of Ellwood City; her brother, Stephen P. Jones and his wife, Janie, of Tamarac, Fla.; and her three grandchildren, John L. Uber II, James C. Davidson and Joshua W. McCracken and his wife, Tawnie.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cooper— The family of Anita Elaine Cooper, who passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. The Rev. Thomas Meling, pastor of the Zion Baptist Church in Worth Township, will officiate. Interment will be in Zion Baptist Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
