Art center has summer classes for children
Summer art classes for children are scheduled at the Butler Art Center.
Each week of summer camp includes painting, T-shirt making, 3-D artwork, drawing, printmaking, more theme related projects, and a healthy snack.
Themes are:
July 11 to 14 — Wearable art (jewelry, clothing, outfit design)
July 18 to 21 — Art and the environment (recycled materials, installation art, artwork from nature)
Aug. 1 to 4 — Make a story (students will write and illustrate their own story)
Aug. 8 to 11 — Color! (art inspired by pop art and abstract art).
The camps run from 9 a.m. to noon each day and are for students ages 5 to 12.
Cost is $60 per week, and additional siblings can attend for $40 per week. Each child also must take a plain white T-shirt to be used to make a camp T-shirt.

The Art Center at 344 S. Main St. is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
