PITTSBURGH — “Dream Big: Engineering Our World” opens Friday in the Rangos Omnimax Theater at the Carnegie Science Center.

Narrated by Jeff Bridges, “Dream Big” celebrates human ingenuity and innovation while offering a perspective on what it means to be an engineer.

The film showcases engineering marvels big and small, from the Great Wall of China and the world's tallest buildings to underwater robots, solar cars and sustainable cities.

The science center plans educational materials and activities to coincide with the film. “Dream Big” lasts 42 minutes.

Engineering demonstrations and hands-on activities will be offered at Engineer the Future from Feb. 23 to 25. Visitors can design a zipline to transport a ping-pong ball, create a super ball, and explore innovations in automotive engineering.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays through Fridays. Visit CarnegieScienceCenter.org.
