The Red Cross will offer the following classes this month at its office at 312 Mercer St.:

• 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED: blended learning course with online content and classroom segments

• 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Adult CPR/AED: blended learning course with online content and classroom segments

• 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 25, Adult CPR/AED

• 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 25, Adult First Aid/CPR/AED

In addition to Butler County residents, businesses, organizations and community groups can register for private instruction from the Red Cross. To register for a nearby individual class or private group instruction, call 800-RED-CROSS or visit RedCross.org.

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Township Historical Society will present “Gettysburg: A Civil War Battle Talk” at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cranberry Township Park Jaycees Shelter. McKean St., will host Terry Hagen to present “Yard Sale Art” at 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at the library.Hagen will provide examples and explain how he's found art treasures at yard sales.This presentation is part of the Butler Library's ongoing programming for adults. Newhaven Court at Clearview, 100 Newhaven Lane, will have its annual dog show from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 21.Each dog will compete for prizes including best costume, most obedient, cutest participant and best of show.
