BUTLER TWP — Butler School District students and staff donated $15,282 from Jeans Day and Penny Challenge fundraisers for Hurricane Sandy victims, said Kevin Brown, executive director of the West Central Pennsylvania chapter of the American Red Cross in a letter to the district.

In addition, a second Denim Day raised $1,100 for the Butler County Children and Youth Agency Christmas program.

With that money, the agency bought the children gifts and clothing.
