Allison Jones, an 8th grader at Butler Junior High School, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee.

Allison now will take a written test.

Up to the top 100 scorers from the test will compete for the state Geographic Bee on April 4.

The state winners will get an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., courtesy of the National Geographic Society. The national championship will be May 19-21.
