WEEDVILLE — Authorities say a man died after he was bitten by a rattlesnake.

Armstrong County Coroner Brian Myers said Russell Davis of Freedom, 39, was camping with his family Saturday in Weedville. He was bitten shortly before midnight while sitting near a campfire.

Davis was initially taken to Penn Highlands Health Care in St. Mary's but was then airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital. He went into cardiac arrest in the helicopter and was taken to ACMH Hospital in Kittanning, where he was pronounced dead Sunday.

Myers ruled the cause of death as anaphylactic reaction to a venomous snake bite and ruled it an accident.

PITTSBURGH — A man is dead after he was hit by a train in Pittsburgh.It happened around 4 a.m. Sunday on CSX train tracks. Police say Brenden Kaneski, 23, was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital in critical condition. But the Beaver Falls man died just before 5:30 a.m.An autopsy is scheduled for today.
