Pregnant 18-year-old dies after shoveling snow in Pa.
POTTSTOWN — Authorities say an autopsy is scheduled today on a pregnant 18-year-old woman who died after shoveling snow in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Police in Pottstown said an ambulance responded to a call shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday and took Briahna Gerloff to Pottstown Memorial Hospital, where she died.
Police said the cause of death hasn’t been determined.
Childhood friend Ava Cruz said Gerloff was eight months pregnant with a daughter she had named Kayliana.
She said Gerloff suffered from a heart ailment but never let it slow her down. She said she spoke to Gerloff the night before her death and “She was excited to be a mom.”
