Virginia Palmer

Virginia I. Palmer, 90, of Grove City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024.

Virginia was born in Pardoe, Findley Township, Mercer County, on Oct. 5, 1934, to George Emery and Mary (Sanford) Patterson. She married Richard L. “Dick” Palmer on Dec. 5, 1951, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2017.

Virginia retired from Grove City Area School District where she was employed in the cafeteria and later as a teacher’s aide for many years.

She is survived by three children, Rhonda (Terry) McClelland of Grove City, Robert (Beverly) Palmer of Ocoee, Fla., and Dick (Becky) Palmer of Grove City; three grandchildren, Jodi (Dan) McClelland-Sindlinger, Jason (Shawna) McClelland and Camden (Laura) Palmer; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Patterson.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Alice E. Ramsey and Mary L. “Louise” Kirschmann; and four brothers, Floyd E., Samuel G., John A. and Richard G. Patterson.

PALMER — A private family service for Virginia I. Palmer, who died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, will be held on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 13, at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Burial will be in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.

Memorials in Virginia’s name may be made to Grove City Alliance Church, 845 N. Liberty Road, Grove City, PA 16127.
