CRANBERRY TWP — Police say a Washington County man was driving under the influence when he crashed into another vehicle in December.

Aaron J. Wrubleski, 35, of Washington, Pa., waived his DUI charges to county court Friday after allegedly crashing into another vehicle on Freedom Road near the Cranberry Mall on the night of Dec. 19.

Wrubleski told police he ran into the back of the other vehicle. Police reports stated he had a “strong odor” of alcohol.

The female driver of the other vehicle involved was not injured. She told police she was stuck behind traffic in the right lane on Freedom Road eastbound when Wrubleski struck her from behind.

Wrubleski’s vehicle sustained moderate-to-severe front end damage, according to police reports. His vehicle was towed away from the scene.

Wrubleski told police he had “two or three” beers and was on his way home. He performed “poorly” in a subsequent sobriety test.

However, a test later showed that he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.238 percent, nearly three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Wrubleski faces two misdemeanor charges of DUI and lesser charges of careless driving and driving at an unsafe speed. He was released on his own recognizance.
