'Seeing in a New Light' next exhibit up for Cranberry network
As the Cranberry Artists Network completes one exhibit at the end of February, the group has already scheduled its next.
“Seeing in a New Light” will be on display from March 4 to April 15 in the main lobby area of the Cranberry Township Municipal Center.
The show opens with a public reception including refreshments and awards from 6 to 8 p.m. March 7.
The pieces in the exhibit will be selected by internationally known Pittsburgh artist Frank Webb.
Webb will choose the work for the show and also the pieces to receive awards.
Webb studied at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and began a career in advertising art, eventually becoming the owner of a firm with major industrial accounts. In 1980, he left his business to pursue painting and teaching.
He has been a guest painting instructor in all 50 states, and he is vice president of the American Watercolor Society.
Some of his paintings are in collections at the Butler Institute of American Art, the Taiwan Art Education Institute, Baylor University, the Palmer Museum of Penn State, the Portland Museum of Art, and the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art.The Philadelphia Water Color Society has awarded him the Crest Medal for Achievement in the Arts and he has received over 110 major medals and awards from national competitions.The exhibit in the Cranberry Artists Network's Back Hall Gallery that is finishing up Feb. 28 features sculpture by Gadi Leshem, watercolors by Dee Grieb and pen-and-ink drawings by Krishna Rathod.Network member Colleen Tittiger will display her artwork in the Back Hall Gallery from Friday to March 31, while the “Seeing in a New Light” exhibit takes place in the main lobby at the municipal center, 2525 Rochester Road.A reception for her show, “Splash of Color,” is 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. March 3.Tittiger went to school at Edinboro University and received a bachelor's in art education. She substitute taught for a few years and worked different jobs until she began working for the court system in Beaver County. Later she obtained her master's in criminal justice.
