Donations sought for Penn Theater repair
Butler Redevelopment Authority maintenance personnel have been asking for donations to repair the roof of the Penn Theater.
Veronica Walker, acting authority executive director, told board members Thursday donations would save the authority the $1,000 cost of making the repairs.
A significant leak was repaired over the winter, but a minor leak remains, she said.
No one has contacted the authority about buying the theater, she said.
The Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation loaned the authority $290,000 to buy the theater in 2009. The authority is looking to sell the theater to eliminate the debt.
