Clarion singers to compete in Wales
The Chamber Singers of Clarion (Pa.) University have been invited to perform and compete in the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales, United Kingdom.
Katie Gannon of Saxonburg is a member of the ensemble.
The annual multiday music festival is celebrated the second week of each July in Llangollen, North Wales.
Singers and dancers from around the world are invited to take part in more than 20 competitions, followed each evening by concerts in which the top competitors share the stage with professional artists.
The Clarion choral ensemble is primarily an a cappella group with a large performance repertoire ranging from jazz to madrigals and from pop to spirituals and about everything in between.
This festival marks the first time the Chamber Singers have traveled internationally.
