Woman taken to hospital after reported screwdriver stabbing

Police responded to the scene of the reported screwdriver attack at 208 West Wayne Street in the City of Butler Tuesday afternoon.

BUTLER — A woman was transported by ambulance following an emergency call reporting someone was stabbed with a screwdriver Tuesday afternoon.

Around 1:20 p.m., a transmission over emergency radio dispatch said a woman was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver at 208 W. Wayne Street.

A woman at the scene was observed sitting upright on a porch at the location while paramedics treated her.

Paramedics wrapped the woman’s head in white bandages, and then placed a collar on her neck before placing her on a stretcher and putting her into an ambulance.

The woman appeared conscious at the time of her treatment. A 911 center dispatcher confirmed a helicopter had been called in for transport.

Initial calls over radio dispatch said a suspect fled the scene on foot.

Butler City Police investigated the scene.

A man left the home with officers around 1:50 p.m. after being frisked and led to a police cruiser.
