Trial ordered in officer sex case
NEW CASTLE — A Western Pennsylvania patrolman has been ordered to stand trial on charges he had sex with two teenage girls and gave them alcohol.
Thirty-five-year-old Richard Corbin, a New Castle officer, was held on statutory sexual assault, furnishing alcohol to minors and related charges at a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
He patrolled New Castle Junior-Senior High School as part of his duties when the alleged assaults took place in January.
The girls, 13 and 15 at the time of the alleged assaults, testified one of them called Corbin and asked if he would take them someplace and he agreed. One of the girls said she found alcohol in his car and asked if they could drink it. They testified they then went to his house, drank, and he had sex with them.
