Driver injured in Fairview Township crash
One driver was taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle collision Wednesday, Sept. 11, in Fairview Township.
The crash was reported at 5:14 p.m. and involved a 2010 Ford Fusion and a 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer. According to state police, the driver of the Ford, Megan Whitmire, 20, of Karns City, pulled away from a stop sign without seeing the Trailblazer, which struck the rear of the Ford.
Whitmire sustained an injury of “unknown severity” and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by Karns City Regional Ambulance Service. The driver of the Chevrolet — Douglas A. Kolich, 57, of East Brady — was not injured and refused transport, according to officials at the scene. Neither vehicle was carrying a passenger.
Whitmire faces charges of driving without a registration, according to a police report.
