Help from residents sought in study on combat stress
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Washington & Jefferson College is seeking help from residents in the Butler, Lawrence and Venango counties with research that may eventually aid combat miliary veterans and their families.
The college, in conjunction with Conemaugh Hospital, is doing a study to assess awareness of combat stress and barriers to health care in the National Guard and Reserve population. The three-year, $6 million U.S. Department of Defense project is managed by the Combat Stress Intervention Program at Washington & Jefferson.
Residents of Butler, Lawrence and Venango counties are asked to go online a complete a brief survey that will assess the level of public awareness of combat stress related issues in the National Guard and Reserve population in southwestern Pennsylvania.
Residents can log onto www.conemaugh.org and click on the "Help Our Troops" button.
