The ninth annual Rachel A. Mogielski Scholarship Fund golf outing is July 15 at Lakevue North Golf Course.
This outing, held in honor of the 12-year-old girl who died from Juvenile Diabetes in 1997, has raised over $32,000 in scholarship money since its inception in 1998.

Tom Fry and Ron Henry of the Butler County Bowling Association finished second in scratch doubles as the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Tournament concluded last weekend.Fry and Henry combined for a 1,471-series, nine pins behind winners Paul Guse and Jack Kurent of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Bowling Association.The Butler County doubles team of Michael Kushner and Scott Davidson finished fifth in doubles handicapped with a 1,530. Jeff Blank was sixth in all events scratch with a 2,169 and Fry was ninth in scratch singles with a 757.
Brett and Jenna Rinker continue to play well in junior golf, winning their respective divisions on the Southwest Ohio Junior Golf Tour recently at the Ironwood Golf Club in Hinckley, Ohio.Brett Rinker carded a 42 for nine holes to win the age 10-11 boys division.Jenna Rinker carded a 90 for 18 holes to win the age 13-15 girls division. She also carded a 47 for nine holes to win last week's SWJCTevent at Bob O'Links Golf Club in Avon, Ohio.
EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern University football coach Randy Walker died of an apparent heart attack. He was 52.Walker died after feeling chest pains around 10 p.m. at his suburban Chicago home, said Mike Wolf, the school's assistant athletic director for media services.Walker was the first Northwestern coach to lead the school to three bowl games. The Wildcats lost to UCLA 50-38 in the Sun Bowl last December.In October 2004, Walker checked himself into a hospital after experiencing chest pains. He was diagnosed with myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle.
