The Karns City girls soccer team received the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the District 9 Class A soccer playoffs.

The Gremlins (15-1) will play the winner of No. 4 Redbank Valley and No. 5 Port Allegany on a day and at a time to be determined.

Redbank Valley and Port Allegany play Tuesday night.

The Karns City boys soccer team received the No. 2 seed and will open the playoffs at 7 p.m. Wednesday at home against No. 7 Clarion-Limestone.

The Gremlins (15-1) defeated the Lions 11-0 and 11-1 in their two meetings this season.

BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Women's Bowling Association will host the women's county tournament Nov. 7-8 and 14-15 at Family Bowlaway.Singles, doubles and team events cost $20 each. ERIE — Butler graduates Rachel Weyand and Taylor Troyan played key roles in Penn State Behrend's 3-0 women's soccer win over D'Youville Wednesday.Weyand scored the game-winning goal and Troyan recorded her third shutout and ninth win of the season.
