Beverly Jack was named Alumni Nurse of the Year at the Butler Memorial Hospital Nurses' Alumni annual banquet held at the Grand Ballroom at Cornerstone Commons.She is a graduate of West Middlesex Area High School and a 1970 graduate of Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She also graduated from Geneva College with a degree in Human Resources Management.Jack works for Lutheran Senior Life as Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Coordinator.She has served the alumni on committees and currently serves as treasurer.A mother of two and grandmother of three, she lives in Butler with her husband, Ronald.
Spring for a Cure was held April 27 at The Atrium to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Komen Pittsburgh Race for the Cure. The event was organized by Bonnie Forsythe, who has a close friend with Hodgkin's disease, and Amy Monteleone, a breast cancer survivor. The event raised more than $11,000 that was divided between the two organizations.———
Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople recently recognized its volunteers at annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinners. The dinners were based on the theme "Volunteers: the Heart of the Community" and featured thanks to volunteers, dinner, door prizes and entertainment.More than 260 registered community and resident volunteers serve the Passavant Retirement Community in its mission of providing abundant life to more than 600 residents. Dawn McChesney was named Outstanding First Year Teacher for Darlington School District in South Carolina.McChesney was among 24 nominees. She teaches fourth grade at West Hartsville Elementary School.
