WAYNESBURG — A former state prison in Greene County will reopen in mid-August as a drug and alcohol treatment center for prisoners nearing the end of their sentences.

Pennsylvania Department of Corrections spokeswoman Susan Bensinger says the 510-bed facility formerly known at the State Correction Institution at Waynesburg will house nonviolent male offenders with less than a year left on their sentence.
