Gregson

Gary Charles Gregson, of Butler, passed away Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024.

He was born Dec. 28, 1948, in Baltimore, Md., to the late Walter B. Gregson and Ursula L. (McCall) Gregson. He attended St. Paul’s Catholic School and graduated from Butler High School in 1967.

He was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Butler Council 866. He enjoyed playing the accordion for audiences when he was younger. Gary attended LIFE Butler County. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and also attended Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church.

He married Judith (Funkhouser) Gregson on May 6, 2000. She preceded him in death on May 13, 2014.

Gary always had a smile and said “hello” to everyone he met. He leaves behind many friends and several cousins, including Kathy Huff, who has helped Gary since his wife passed away.

Special thanks to the caring staff of Butler Memorial Hospital, the emergency room, the ICU, Butler Ambulance crew, and the Butler City Fire Department.

GREGSON — Friends of Gary Charles Gregson, who died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with the Rev. John Baver officiating.
