JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Running back Maurice Jones-Drew agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jones-Drew, a second-round draft pick out of UCLA in 2006, signed the new deal Wednesday.

Jones-Drew has 6,003 all-purpose yards and 40 touchdowns in three seasons. The 5-foot-7, 208-pound dynamo led the team with 824 yards rushing last year and ranked second with 62 receptions for 565 yards. He scored 14 touchdowns.

He is expected to do even more in 2009 since the Jaguars released Fred Taylor, the franchise's career rushing leader, in February.

PITTSBURGH The Pittsburgh Penguins have extended their radio broadcast deal with WXDX-FM for six years.The station, at 105.9 FM, has carried the team's games the last three seasons.The broadcast extension begins this fall and will carry the team through its first five seasons in the Consol Energy Center, the new $321 million arena being built for the team across the street from their current home, Mellon Arena.Longtime play-by-play announcer Mike Lange and former Penguins player Phil Bourque work the FM broadcasts.
