Jeffrey Taylor

Taylor

Jeffrey Lee Taylor, of Boyers, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, at the age of 60. He succumbed to stage 4 metastatic colon cancer, surrounded and comforted by his loving children.

He was born on March 20, 1964, to Ralph and Mary Taylor, who preceded him in death.

He graduated from Moniteau High School in 1982 and then went on to obtain an associate degree in specialized technology in automotive and diesel technology from New Castle School of Trades. Some of the places he worked throughout his life were Sunbeam Coal Corp., Cooper Bessemer and finally Tri-County Industries for 29 years as a diesel mechanic. His strong work ethic and dedication was one that cannot be matched. During the final months of his declining health, he continued to always ask and be concerned about when he could get back to work.

His adult children, Kristen and Michael, were his world. He enjoyed and cherished any visit or phone call with them. He loved to hear about their accomplishments or anything they had going on in their lives. He looked forward most to deer hunting with them and every holiday they could spend all together. He valued time with his children and was excited for anything he could do to help them in life.

Aaron Tippin’s song, “I Got It Honest,” was the definition of what he stood for. He loved a simple life, which he enjoyed. His children, friends and home were what mattered the most to him. He was proud of everything he earned in his life. It wasn’t much to some, but it was everything to him. He could always say, “I got it honest.” Lines specifically from the song that meant the most, “Now when I die, I may not leave my kids a fortune. But I hope they know'd my life stood for things that were important. And I'll hand out the same sturdy old values of my daddy and my momma. It made me every ounce of what I am and I got it honest.”

After working so hard all of his life, he had finally made the plan to retire at the age of 62. He was looking forward to enjoying retirement, something that was well deserved. Although he did not make it to that plan, he now made it to something even better, making his way home to our Heavenly Father and welcomed by the arms of his loving parents who were taken from him too soon.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristen Taylor; son, Michael Taylor; several cousins and friends; and also loving bonus family member, Sylvia Cochran, who took on the role after the loss of his mother.

TAYLOR — To honor his request, there will be no services for Jeffrey Lee Taylor, who died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024. A celebration of life for all that knew and loved him is going to be planned by his children and will take place at a future time.

The Young family of WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, West Sunbury, has assisted his family with arrangements.
